One of the Indiana County banks received top honors for the Pittsburgh area as well as Pennsylvania and Ohio.

According to a press release, Indiana-based First Commonwealth Bank has been ranked the number one lender by the Small Business Administration, or SBA, in terms of dollars lent in the Pittsburgh area for the second year in a row. This was for the federal fiscal year that ended September 30e . On top of that, First Commonwealth reached number two in Pennsylvania and number four in Ohio. Ohio’s high ranking is due to the bank’s strong performance in two of Ohio’s major cities, Cleveland (#3) and Columbus (#6) in dollars lent.

In a statement, First Commonwealth’s Executive Vice President of Consumer and Business Lending Jeff Rosen said they were proud of their achievement and the company shared a vision of being one of the best banks for businesses. He added that Best Lender status is a “quantifiable reflection of that and our mission to improve the financial lives of our neighbors and their businesses.”

With high regional and state rankings, as well as SBA loans in Florida and Texas, First Commonweath has a national SBA loan ranking at number 45, up from number 78 last year.
